The Art of Reflection
After
looking at a few articles on reflective learning I put together this mind map
showing the most important factors and information I found throughout the
articles, on what is important to develop and learn to become a reflective
learner. The basis of being a reflective learner is to work independently and
be responsible for your own success. This is done through improving your work
by taking on board feedback, but also understanding why that feedback was
necessary.
Reflecting
on what you have learnt can enable you to further understand things, especially
if you find certain areas a struggle. Looking back on your work can make things
clearer and easier to learn.
When
looking at Dewey and Kolb’s theories on reflective learning I found Kolb’s
easier to understand as its learning cycle explains how people learn
individually and also explains a cycle of learning that applies to all. Kolb’s
learning styles are simplified into four categories such as feeling, thinking,
doing and watching.
It
seems the most effective way of developing as a reflective learner is to create
a reflective journal, where you can store information and question it as to how
important it is, how can it benefit your learning, what did you learn and also
did you struggle with any areas?
Rugby, Good Looking Players!
My chosen topic to research was rugby, as rugby is not a very interesting topic for myself I have chosen to focus on good looking rugby players, particularly Leigh Halfpenny, weighing 13st 5lbs and 5ft 10inches in height. He is a Welsh International Rugby player and is 24 years old. He was recently crowned International Player of the Year 2013. He was selected for the Wales national rugby team in October 2008 making his first debut when he was 19 years old.

Abbie Glading
My name is Abbie Glading, I'm 18 years of age and from Whitchurch, Cardiff. I was a student at Whitchurch High School and stayed on for sixth form studying for A Level Art, English Lang and Media. Through high school I was involved in helping out with a school during a work experience week and through that I discovered that I had an interest in a teaching career, which led me to look into universities and end up at Swansea.
